Opportunity: Business & Commercial
NATURAL
PROGRESSION
Successful business partners take next
steps with Quinovic’s residential property
management franchise
It didn’t take Jordan Atkinson long to discover his true niche in life.
After leaving high school and gaining work experience in commercial leasing,
it was the opportunity to work directly with people and help them achieve
positive outcomes that convinced him to join the Quinovic Kent Terrace team
in Wellington, as their business development manager.
Just over a year later, he had the opportunity to purchase the business
alongside Tom and Kate Finlay and Kerrie Pollock.
“We had all built an excellent working relationship, sharing the same values
and long-term vision. It felt like a natural next step,” Jordan recalls, “and at just
27 years old, becoming a business owner was an exciting challenge that I
couldn’t pass up.”
Looking back, Jordan says it was one of the best decisions he has ever made.
“It gave me the opportunity to build something alongside people I trusted,
while creating a business focused on exceptional customer service and long-
term relationships with both owners and tenants.”
Evolving franchise journey
While the Wellington property market has seen testing times recently, it has
also been rewarding. The team has invested strongly into improving their
systems, embracing new technology and growing their support team, and
this year they made the bold decision to expand further.
Jordan says they knew they had the processes, the experience, the
knowledge and the will to succeed in a challenging market. Their recent
acquisition of two more existing Quinovic offices was a natural progression
and provides further potential for growth.
Integrating a second portfolio of rental properties while maintaining the same
high level of service to their customers is a challenge taken very seriously by
Jordan and his fellow franchisees.
“This next stage of growth allowed us to bring together greater experience,
capability and local knowledge,” he explains. “All while continuing to deliver
the same high standard of personalised service our clients expect.”
A genuine desire to help others
For Jordan, the most rewarding part of the business is helping people. He
believes it takes honesty, integrity and, most importantly, a genuine desire to
help others to succeed in this business.
“Whether it’s assisting landlords to protect one of their biggest investments
or helping tenants find a place they can truly call home, you’re making a
genuine difference to people’s lives,” he explains.
“Property management is much more than inspections and maintenance, it’s
about building relationships, solving problems, and delivering great results.
Every day is different, and that’s something I really enjoy.”
The Quinovic culture is also helpful, he says, providing its national franchise
network with outstanding support, proven systems, and decades of industry
experience. “Having that backing allows you to focus on growing your
business and delivering exceptional customer service, rather than having to
build everything from scratch.
“The industry continues to evolve, and clients expect higher levels of service
than ever before. Having access to established systems, training, and support
gives Quinovic franchisees a real advantage as they grow their businesses.”
“The property industry is always changing, so staying open to learning
and adapting is one of the biggest factors for your long-term success,
alongside building trust, communicating well and always putting your clients’
interests first.”
Leading technology
The Quinovic Group continually invests a significant amount in best practice
industry technology, and Jordan says this has made a real difference to how
franchisees operate every day.
“For example, our proprietary QPMS management system gives our team
instant access to all the financial, admin and compliance information needed
to deliver a fast, efficient service.”
He also highlights Quinovic’s integration of the Inspection Express technology
which produces highly detailed property reports and gives property owners
greater confidence that their investment is being carefully managed.
Jordan says listing management platforms like Renti have totally transformed
the application process. “It makes it easier for tenants to apply while helping
us efficiently manage enquiry volumes and organise viewings.
“Artificial intelligence is also beginning to play a bigger role by streamlining
administrative tasks, improving communication, and allowing our team to
spend more time focusing on customer relationships.
“Technology like AI won’t replace the personal side of property management,
but it certainly helps us to work smarter, respond faster, and deliver a
consistently high level of service. When all of these technologies work well
together, they create a much better experience for owners, tenants and us in
the Quinovic team.”
Time for a conversation
“Thanks to their ongoing investment in technology, strong brand recognition,
and increasing demand for professional property management services, I
believe now is an excellent time for motivated people to join the Quinovic
network,” Jordan says.
“With Quinovic you’re never alone. You have the full support of the group,
proven systems and technology
platforms, ongoing training, and a whole
network of franchise owners who all
want to see each other succeed.
“For anyone looking to build a rewarding
career or own their own business, I’d
absolutely encourage them to have a
conversation with Quinovic. There will
always be challenges but if you have
the right mindset and a willingness to
learn, those challenges quickly become
opportunities to grow.”
