BUILT TO LAST:

How Choices Flooring New Plymouth

Sustains Growth, Leadership & Local Trust

For Tim and Fiona Proctor, success has never been about quick wins. It has

been about showing up consistently, building trust over time and leading

a business that performs year after year. Now in its eighth successful year,

Choices Flooring New Plymouth stands as a clear example of what sustained

performance, strong leadership and the right support can achieve.

Located in the heart of Taranaki, the store has grown from

a new opening into a highly respected fl ooring destination,

recognised not only by loyal customers but also through

multiple awards for excellence in sales and marketing. Behind

that success is a disciplined approach to business, a committed

team and the backing of the Choices Flooring group.

From Opening Doors to Winning Floors:

Eight Years of Consistent Growth

Refl ecting on the journey, Tim and Fiona are quick to

acknowledge how much the business has evolved since

opening its doors. “Eight years have fl own by so fast,” Tim says.

“We’ve achieved so much more in that time than we would

ever have expected.”

Among the milestones they are most proud of are the large-

scale commercial projects the business has delivered across

the region. From Stadium Taranaki and Southern Cross Private

Hospital to Govett-Brewster Art Gallery / Len Lye Centre

projects, Countdown supermarkets and numerous schools

throughout Taranaki, Choices Flooring New Plymouth has

proven its capability across complex, high-profi le installations.

“Even with a pandemic, we continued to grow,” Tim adds.

“That’s something we’re incredibly proud of.”

Consistent growth driven by people

Sustaining growth over eight years requires more than strong

sales - it requires the right people delivering consistently at

every stage of the job. For the Proctors, their team has been

central to that success.

“Our team of installers and sales staff are a huge part of the key

drivers from start to fi nish,” Fiona explains. “Being able to deliver

well, year after year, is what fuels our growth. Word of mouth

goes a long way.”

That reputation for reliability and quality has created a powerful

cycle: satisfi ed customers return for future stages of work and

confi dently recommend the business to others, underpinning

steady, long-term performance.

Award-winning discipline and systems

Choices Flooring New Plymouth’s multiple awards for sales

and marketing excellence are no accident. They are the result

of disciplined systems, forward planning and a willingness to

keep evolving. “We never stop moving forward,” Tim says.

“We’re always looking for new ways to advertise and get our

name out there.”

A strong CRM program supports the business across quoting,

measuring and invoicing, giving the team clear visibility over

both past performance and future opportunities. Combined

with regular showroom reviews and updates, it ensures the

store remains relevant, organised and customer focused.

“It allows us to look back, see what’s coming up, and review

how we’re presenting and performing,” Tim explains.
